Would IMPROVE the aesthetic impact (very much).
I can do this for sure. I keep them there for orientation.

The target cross is the direction of the camera. Think FPS for a moment.

The lines are a wireframe of a cube centered at point (0, 0, 0) and is
big enough to perfectly inscribe the unit sphere where said sphere is
tangent to all six faces of the cube. The dimensions of the cube are:

cube_min = (-1, -1, -1)
cube_max = (1, 1, 1)

sphere at (0, 0, 0) radius 1 // unit sphere

The cube is drawn in wire frame. Here is an inscribed unit sphere:
